Israeli Forces Detain 22 Palestinians from West Bank

JERUSALEM, April 5, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained Tuesday overnight 22 Palestinians, including three minors, and summoned at least three others during predawn raids across the West Bank, said security sources and Palestine Prisoner’s Society.

Twelve Palestinians were detained from Jerusalem, seven others from Hebron, another from Ramallah, another from Tulkarem and another from Jenin.

Israeli police detained three Palestinians after storming and ransacking their family houses in al-‘Isawiya town, north of Jerusalem.

The detainees were identified as Abdul-Qader Dari, Muhammad Abu-Rayyala and Abdullah Abu-‘Asab, a minor.

Police stormed Hizma village, north of Jerusalem, where they launched a house-to-house raids, detaining six Palestinians.

Police detained Adel Jum’a, Abed-Rabbu Kan’aan, Abed Kan’aan, Sufyan Kan’aan, Odeh Odeh and Abdul-Zayyad Awad.

During the predawn raid, police broke into and ransacked several houses including those belonging to Tawfiq al-‘Issa, Ali al-Hussein, Sheikh Abed-Rabbu and Odeh al-Kasba.

Two more Palestinians identified as Iyad Eweisat and Ahmad Eweisat were detained from the Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukabbir.

Another Palestinian identified as Ahmad Dandan was detained from Abu Dis town, southeast of Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, forces detained seven Palestinians, including a minor, during predawn raids across the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

Forces detained Mahmoud Hmeidat after breaking into and ransacking his family house in Surif town, northwest of Hebron.

They raided al-‘Arrub refugee camp, north of Hebron, where they detained Ali Abu-Sal and Yazan Muqbil, a minor.

They also detained Wasim Bahar, 21, after storming his family house in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron.

They also detained Mahmoud ‘Amr and Mahmoud Ibrewish during a predawn raid into Dura town, south of Hebron.

This came as Husam Hrizat, who comes from the Hebron town of Yatta, was detained from Jerusalem.

To the north of Jerusalem, in Ramallah district, forces detained Tamer Rimawi, 23, after storming and tampering with the contents of his family house in Beit Rima village, northwest of Ramallah.

During the raid, forces stormed the family house of Karim Rimawi, 29, showering it with tear gas canisters and ordering that he turn himself.

In the meantime, forces detained a Palestinian and summoned two others from the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem.

The detainee was identified as Adnan Abu-Baker, 50, from Tulkarem refugee camp.

Forces launched house-to-house raids in Tulkarem city and Nur Shams refugee camp, causing extensive damage to houses, including the family house of Omar Ghannam and Mu’men Abu-Safaqa.

During the raids, forces handed at least three Palestinians identified as Haitham Shehadeh, Basem Shawish and Haitham al-Khatib notices ordering them to turn themselves to intelligence.

In Jenin district, forces re-detained a Palestinian during a raid into Jaba’ town, south of the city.

Large Israeli troops raided the Jenin town, where they re-detained Nazih Abu-‘Awn after surrounding and storming his house, triggering clashes.

During subsequent clashes, troops fired tear gas canisters, stun grenades and live ammunition, causing several locals to suffocate.
