Israeli Police Allow Settlers into al-Aqsa Mosque, Prevent 20 Palestinian Women from Entering

JERUSALEM, August 23, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli police Sunday prevented around 20 Palestinian women from entering al-Aqsa mosque, while allowing Israeli settlers into the mosque’s compound, according to WAFA correspondent.

Special Israeli police units erected metal barricades near al-Aqsa mosque, imposing restrictions on the entry of Palestinians and preventing around 20 women from entering for attempting to fend off settlers’ attempts to tour the mosque’s compound.

Meanwhile, worshippers at the mosque chanted religious slogans protesting settlers’ provocative tours inside the mosque’s compound.

To be noted, Israeli police have banned many Palestinians from entering the mosque for various periods of time under the same pretext.
