Israeli Police Arrest 3 Students in Anti-conscription Demonstration in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, April 29, 2014 – (WAFA) – Israeli police arrested Tuesday three Arab students from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, said local witnesses.

Israeli police stormed the Hebew University campus to disperse a demonstration organized by Arab students against the military conscription of Arab Christians and arrested three students.

Students lifted banners written in several languages and chanted slogans denouncing Israeli attempts to enlist Arab Christians in the Israeli army and stressing their affiliation to Palestine.

Police assaulted demonstrators using sticks as well as pepper sprayed them, causing several injuries among them.
