Minister: Reconstruction Materials Allowed Entry into Gaza

RAMALLAH, November 17, 2014 – (WAFA) – Reconstruction and raw materials necessary for Qatar-funded projects were allowed Monday entry into the Gaza Strip for the Qatari projects, said Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein al-Sheikh.

In a press release, Al-Sheikh said that under an agreement concluded with the Israelis, reconstruction and raw materials  necessary for reconstruction projects, especially those funded by Qatar, would be allowed entry into in the strip as of Monday.

He added that 100 truckloads of base course for infrastructure projects are expected to be allowed entry Monday into the strip and that bitumen would be allowed entry Tuesday.

Al-Sheikh noted that under the agreement, 100 truckloads of base course would be daily allowed entry into the strip and that shipping of textile products from Gaza would be commenced soon.
