Ministry of Health Calls for ‘Safe Line’ for Blood and Food Transfer to Gaza

RAMALLAH, July 20, 2014 (WAFA) – Ministry of Health called Sunday upon the international organizations and human rights institutions to intervene to allow food products and blood units into the Gaza Strip.

Spokesperson for the ministry, Osama an-Najjar, said in a press conference in Ramallah, that dozens on Sunday were either killed or injured in an unprecedented Israeli massacre that targeted Shuja’iyya neighborhood in Gaza.

She said the Israel deliberately targets innocent civilians as it falls short to confront the Palestinian resistance factions.

Meanwhile, cancer, thalassemia and   kidney patients in Gaza hospitals are also facing severe difficulties in receiving medical health care due to mass shortage of medical supplies and drugs, putting their lives at risk, she added.

An-Najjar described the environmental and health situation in Gaza as ‘tragic’, stressing that the number of Palestinians killed or injured is increasing by the hour; a daily-rate of around 360 injuries, mostly critical, since the Israeli aggression on Gaza began.
