Palestine Delegation Discusses 72-Hour Truce

Azzam al-Ahmad

CAIRO, August 10, 2014 (WAFA) – The Palestinian delegation to Cairo, headed by Azzam al-Ahmad, examined on Sunday an Egyptian proposal for a 72-hour ceasefire with Israel, aimed at resuming talks on a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and Israel, according to a well-informed source.

The source said the Palestinian delegation is waiting for a breakthrough in the Egyptian efforts, and that no final resolution will be declared until after an official Israeli response to the Egyptian proposal.

Earlier on Sunday, al-Ahmad said that the Palestinian delegation will not accept any Israeli preconditions for continuing negotiations on a ceasefire with the Israeli side.
