Premier Condemns Forced Transfer of Palestinian Bedouins in Jerusalem Area

RAMALLAH, January 20, 2016 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah Wednesday deplored the illegal transfer of Palestinian Bedouins in the Jerusalem area, stating that “Israel’s systematic violation of international laws is no longer acceptable by the international community.”

PM Hamdallah expressed his thanks to Robert Piper, Coordinator for Humanitarian and UN Development Activities for the occupied Palestinian territory, and Felipe Sanchez,  Director of UNRWA Operations in the West Bank, for their unwavering support to the Palestinian Bedouin community of Abu Nawar.

On January 6, 2016, Israel destroyed the homes and basic structures of twenty-six Palestinians, among them 18 children, in order to make way for the expansion of Ma’ale Adummim settlement.

Abu Nawar is located in the E1 area, where Israel continuously violates international laws by expanding illegal settlements on confiscated Palestinian land.

Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including in East Jerusalem, are illegal under  international law.
