Settler Attacks Minor Student in the Old City of Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, January 5, 2014 (WAFA) – An Israeli settler attacked a 12-year-old female student from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan while she was heading to her school in the Old City of Jerusalem, according the Information Center of Wadi Helwa.

The center reported the child’s father stating that while Marah Jalajil, 12, was heading as usual from her house to School when she was suddenly kicked from behind by a settler, knocking her down to the floor.

The settler then severely beat up Jalajil kicking her with his hand and feet on her head, back and abdomen while she was still on the floor.

The settler fled the scene after a passing-by Palestinian youth rushed to help the child. As a result, the child sustained multiple bruises throughout her body.

The child’s father filed a complaint to a police center. Police was able to arrest the settler after checking the security cameras in the area.
