Settlers Plant Trees in Illegally Seized Palestinian Land

HEBRON, January 14, 2014 (WAFA) – Dozens of Israeli settlers protected by soldiers Tuesday took over a Palestinian-owned land in an area east of the city of Hebron and began planting it with olive trees, according to a local witness.

Rashid al-Tamimi, a resident of Hebron, told WAFA that dozens of settlers began farming a 150-dunum lot belonging to Palestinians as a prelude to taking it over to expand a nearby illegal settlement.

Israeli forces have prevented the Arab owners of that area from entering their land since 1972, he said, under the pretext it is used for Israeli military training.
