Spain Condemns Israel’s Grab of 4000 Acres in West Bank

MADRID, September 2, 2014 (WAFA) – The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Tuesday the Israeli government’s decision to seize 4000 acres of land in Bethlehem and Hebron for the benefit of expanding an Israeli settlement, built illegally on Palestinian-owned land..

The ministry called Israel to reconsider the decision, according to a statement by the Palestinian delegation to Spain, adding that the Spanish Government confirmed its position that settlement construction and expansion are illegal.

Spain considered the decision an ‘inappropriate’ one especially at a time of sensible Palestinian-Israeli relations, saying that all parties should not perform activities that could impede the peace process and the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
